What Troubles Me

Posted in Journey of the Mind with tags , , , , on January 1, 2014 by Sharon Matusiak

My mom didn’t die of natural causes.  Knowing the horrible way in which she died, I can’t just let it go.  That’s the reason for writing a memoir.  Without the nature of her demise I wouldn’t have felt compelled to throw aside my natural regard for my own privacy.

It is especially disturbing because it was I that mom and dad both chose as the very guardian of their life and safety in the form of naming me medical power of attorney back in 1995.  They knew how much power that could wield.  And they knew me.  They knew I could be trusted.  They knew I would do what I thought best. They had never feared me.  I can’t say the same for others.
